Houlagan’s Spring Curtain Raiser
Winter hibernation is over for Houlagan Lacrosse as their attention turns to this weekend and the official curtain raiser for their spring season. There will be several marquee events taking place across multiple Seacoast United facilities including their first ever Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) clinic and the return of Lax Jam.
On Friday, Epping will play host to a one-day Premier League Lacrosse clinic. The Premier Lacrosse League is the highest professional field lacrosse league offered in the United States. On April 2nd, they will be running several clinics focused on offensive training and defensive training. Shayna Pirreca, Troy Reh (Chaos LSM) and Kevin Buchanan (Chaos Midfielder) will be on deck working with the athletes and sharing their experiences from the professional game.
On Saturday, the Houlagan Lacrosse Lax Jam will once again see New Hampshire and surrounding Seacoast town teams come out and take part in festival games! Two years ago, Houlagans introduced Lax Jam to the Seacoast area as an opportunity for area town organization teams to experience competitive play before the start of their spring season. After a brief hiatus last year due to the pandemic, the team is raring to go and will be welcoming over 100 lacrosse teams!
“We are extremely excited that we will be hosting over 100 teams representing 25+ towns around the Seacoast this coming weekend!” said Houlagan Lacrosse Owner Sean Houlahan. “This year more than ever there is an even bigger buzz surrounding LAXJAM! For many of these players they have not touched a stick for over a year, towns are just getting their spring programs up and running, and this is an amazing opportunity for many players to get some competitive game play exposure before their actual seasons kick off in the coming weeks!” Houlahan went on to say, “Town programs and their players have been amazing to work with as we navigate through hosting an event of this magnitude with the pandemic still looming. We can’t wait for this weekend!”
In addition to all of the excitement taking place on the field, Houlagan Lacrosse will also be joined by the US Air Force who will be onsite this weekend providing several unique onsite activation opportunities for the players and families in attendance. Seacoast United recently partnered with the US Air Force and is working on a number of initiatives to help impact the surrounding region. “We are really looking forward to coming out this weekend, working with Houlagans and interacting with the kids.” Said Staff Sgt Corey Weaver. “This is first time that we have partnered up with Seacoast and it’s great that we can add a little bit more to the overall atmosphere.”
