Now in its 13th year, Kites Against Cancer Season was created by Anne-Marie Viviano, a former Exeter Hospital cancer patient who had a vision to fill the sky with kites as a sign of hope and support of other cancer patients and their loved ones. Anne-Marie also launched the Beyond the Rainbow Fund, which assists families with expenses and wellness therapies during cancer treatments.
Kites Against Cancer Season is an important effort by Exeter Hospital to provide vital funding for The Beyond the Rainbow Fund. The BTR Fund provides direct financial support for basics, such as mortgage and rent payments, transportation, utilities, wellness care and more to patients who are undergoing cancer treatment.
There will be two live events which will take place on Sunday, May 16 at Hampton Beach (Oceanfront Pavilion) from 11:00am – 2:00pm and Sunday June 13 from 12:00 – 3:00pm at the Stratham Hill Park in Stratham, NH. Families and friends will be able to attend either day and take part in the celebration which is free to the public. From now until June 13, Exeter Hospital is encouraging everyone to submit photos, videos and stories of participants flying kites in support of K.A.C. Most of the kites are light colors and are easy to decorate with inspiring messages or art. Exeter Hospital will be sharing the most colorful kites and well wishes on their social media platforms over the coming weeks.
