The boys from Seacoast traveled to Concord to play the Cannons on Sunday, May 1st. The squad was able to split the twinbill, dropping the initial contest in eight innings 8-7. The team regrouped and shutout the home team, 10-0 for their third win of the season.
In game one, the hosts took a 3-1 lead into the third before Bryce Dawson and Jojo Stark hit home runs, providing the Seacoast team with a 4-3 advantage. The group would continue to string together some timely hits and take a 7-3 lead into the sixth before the Cannons tied the game with a pair of unearned runs. Concord would eventually tally the winning run on an infield error, 8-7. Seacoast received some offensive contributions from Brad Keaveney, Michael Sullivan, Collin Shapiro and Garrett Fosher. Showcasing some leather was a fine play at home between Shapiro and Fosher. The infield also turned a 6-4-3 doubleplay as well.
In the night cap, the Seacoast team plated three first-inning runs and never looked back on their way to a convincing 10-0 shutout. The Seacoast team would send eleven batters to the plate and score six times in the third to put the game away. Sullivan and Stark combined to pitch a five inning no-hit contest. Leading the way with some solid base knocks were Austin Santos, Kyle Ball, Trevor Couett and Shane McClure. Anthony LaBella, McClure and Fosher made nice catches in the outfield.
The 12U team is 3-1 and returns to action Saturday evening in a doubleheader versus the Southern Maine Waves in Biddeford.
