FIELD HOCKEY CLUB FINDING SUCCESS ON NATIONAL STAGE

It has been an exciting Spring/Summer for the Seacoast United Field Hockey Club! Not only have we grown to become the largest field hockey club in New England with training sites in Hampton and Concord, NH and Essex, MA, but it was also the 5th time since 2013 that we have been named an RCC (Regional Club Championship) host site. As a club, we are honored to have such a strong relationship with USA Field Hockey, as we share a common mission of growing the game of field hockey in the North East Region.

This year, for the first time in the club’s history, all three of our age groups (U14, U16 & U19) qualified for the National Club Championships in Lancaster, PA. This is an extremely exciting accomplishment, as only the top sixteen U-14 Girls, U-16 Girls and U-19 Girls teams from the Regional Club Championships earned a ticket to the National Club Championship. Seacoast United Field Hockey was also the only club in the North East Region to qualify all three age groups this year!

The National Club Championship presented by Harrow Sports is an ideal opportunity for clubs to compete against each other in a highly competitive atmosphere, and coincides with USA Field Hockey’s mission of growing playing opportunities and the game of field hockey in the United States. This tournament is great exposure for our players, and gives them a true glimpse of what it is like to play at the highest level of field hockey in the country!  We are incredibly proud of the way each age group performed, and it was a great learning experience for us as a club. Our U-14 girls finished 16th in the country, our U-16’s finished 14th in the country, and our U-19’s finished 15th in the country.

Looking ahead, we are excited about the upcoming year. With many of our top players returning, we hope to make another strong run at the NCC’s next year! We plan on implementing some big changes to the structure of our program, and can’t wait to begin training again this Winter! GO SEACOAST!
