Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Exeter Hospital has made some changes to their fundraising initiatives for the month of May. The hospital’s annual Kites Against Cancer month will now be known as Kites Against Cancer Season, in order to best accommodate the critical and crucial realities of physical-distancing, while honoring and remembering loved ones and friends who have been affected by cancer.
Kites Against Cancer Season is an important effort by Exeter Hospital to provide vital funding for The Beyond the Rainbow Fund. The BTR Fund provides direct financial support for basics, such as mortgage and rent payments, transportation, utilities, wellness care and more to patients who are undergoing cancer treatment.
From now until June 7, which is National Cancer Survivors’ Day, Exeter Hospital is encouraging everyone to send photo’s, video’s and stories of participants flying kites and supporting K.A.C. Participants can make a donation of $10 each to have a kite delivered to their household DELIVER) or they can donate one to someone and have it delivered as well. Most of the kites are light colors and are easy to decorate with inspiring messages or art. Exeter Hospital will be sharing the most colorful kits and well wishes on their social media platforms.
