HAMPTON, NH - Seacoast United Phantoms embark on their last road trip of the season this weekend when they travel to New York for back to back games vs. FA Euro and Long Island Rough Riders.
Results from this weekend’s matchups around the Northeast Division of the PDL could very well determine playoff berths, as well as the division champion as the league schedule winds down.
GPS Portland Phoenix currently lead the division, tied on points (22) with Western Mass Pioneers but hold the advantage on goal differential, followed the Seacoast United in 3rd place with 18 points. Both the Pioneers and Phantoms have 3 games remaining, while Phoenix have 4 left on their schedule.
The Phantoms need wins in all three of their remaining games for a chance to catch the frontrunners and claim the Northeast Division crown, but will also need some help from others in the division playing spoilers in games that involve the two leaders. However, GPS Portland and Western MA will face each other in the final game of the season on July 17th, which could end up as a “winner-take-all”.
The final home game for the Seacoast United Phantoms will take place on Saturday, July 16th when they host AC Connecticut at Southern NH University. The game is scheduled to kick off at 4pm.
