DiMaggio, Phantoms Shut Out AC Connecticut 1-0

DANBURY, CT - Earning their third straight victory in Northeast Divisional play, the Seacoast United Phantoms defeated AC Connecticut 1-0 at Western Connecticut State University on Saturday.

The lone goal in the match came in the 28th minute when striker Sofiane Tergou blasted a shot from 20 yards, leaving Connecticut goalkeeper Sasso no chance at making the save.

The Phantoms needed a big performance from the back line as they were without a few key players.  Defensive starters Ben Havey and AJ Dubois were unavailable.

Goalkeeper Dom DiMaggio made several key stops in the 2nd half to keep the clean sheet.  The shutout is his 2nd in three games.  AC Connecticut held the edge in shots, 12-7.

Seacoast United returns home on Sunday, May 31st for a rematch with AC Connecticut.  Kickoff is set for 4pm at Southern NH University in Manchester, NH.  The Phantoms will celebrate Manchester Soccer Club during the match in "Club Appreciation Day".
