This year’s Seacoast United WPSL team is very much changed from last year with a lot of new players being recruited and added to the roster. Returning players from last year to look out for are Emma Clark (Boston University) and Gina Righini (Holy Cross). This year Seacoast United has went far and wide to bolster the WPSL squad for the 2012 season and brought in a variety of players including the Irish Youth Internationals who are coming to New Hampshire for the WPSL season.

Amongst the new players for this season are, Julia Rafferty (Bates College) who is a solid holding midfielder in dictating the tempo of the game.  Krista Minto (Boston University) is an exciting forward to look out for with her willingness to take on players and go to goal.  Seacoast United Phantoms also have a good showing of five players from the University of New Hampshire this season including Brazilian striker Andrea Nogueira who brings a flamboyant style to the front line.

“We have worked hard in the post season to assemble a squad that has a good balance of both younger players and more experienced players, and also a blend of some very exciting attacking players along with the more disciplined players," commented head coach Chris Scott, who is in his first season with the Seacoast United Phantoms and has a promising outlook for the team.  "The squad we have definitely has the talent to cause teams problems, and we feel that we have compiled the strongest squad to date that Seacoast United Phantoms has had to become a competitive force in the Northeast division.”

The WPSL is the largest national women’s soccer league in the world, fielding more than 70+ teams.  New opponents appear on this year’s schedule for the Phantoms with the realignment of the WPSL due to the cancellation of Women’s Premier Soccer earlier this spring.  Seacoast United will have a home and away match against the following opponents within the Northeast Atlantic division:  Aztec (MA),  CFC Passion (CT), Long Island Fury (NY), New England Mutiny (MA), and Seacoast United Mariners (ME).
