Lougheed's (left) goal vs. Vermiont helped extend the Seacoast United Phantoms win streak to 7 games.

ST. ALBANS, VT - The Seacoast United Phantoms continue on their hot streak of late, securing a 1-0 victory over PDL Northeast Division opponent Vermont Voltage on Saturday evening.

The match saw several scoring opportunities in the first half for both teams, however the score would remain 0-0 entering the break.  Phantoms goalkeeper Dom DiMaggio pulled off several stellar saves, while the striker duo of Terrence Carter and Anthony Grant created problems for the Voltage defenders.

The visitors struggled at times to contain the speedy outside midfielders of the Voltage, but were able to make adjustments to keep them at bay.

Early in the 2nd half, the Phantoms would have their best look at goal when Carter's cross was redirected at goal by midfielder Ben Havey, but missed high over the bar.  In the 63rd minute, Havey would make up for his miss when he served a cross into the box, finding Trent Lougheed put the Phantoms up 1-0.  The pace of the match increased and emotions ran high during the remaining 27 minutes, but the visitors were able to hold on and secure yet another shutout.

Travelling north for back to back games this weekend, the Phantoms will continue over the border to Canada to face the Montreal Impact U23's on Sunday afternoon. With Saturday's win, the Phantoms improve to 7-1-2 on the season, riding a 5-game winning streak.  The shutout is the team's 5th on the season, while allowing just 5 goals against.
