The Home Stretch

June 30th, 2015

On Wednesday, the Seacoast United Phantoms return to Portsmouth to see out the remainder of their season with a stretch of four home matches. The Phantoms have spent the majority of June on the road traveling to New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts, so playing underneath the Portsmouth High School floodlights will be a welcome sight.

The Phantoms kick-off the last 2 weeks of the regular USL PDL season against Western MA Pioneers at 7:00pm on Wednesday, July 1st. The Pioneers will be looking for revenge after a thrilling game at the Lusitano Stadium two weeks ago. The Phantoms snatched all three points in a 3-2 game having played the majority of it with only 10 men due to AJ Dubois’ red card in the first half. The players are hoping to use some of that fighting spirit Wednesday night as they look to bounce back from a disappointing 1-0 loss against GPS Portland Phoenix this past Sunday.

After 10 games the Phantoms remain top of the table having lost only two games, both on the road. The last four games are all to play for with the team in a great position. “The players are raring to go after Sunday’s result.”, said Head Coach Iain Scott. “We don’t want to take anything away from Phoenix but it was tough conditions to play in and they took advantage of it. These last four matches are very important and Wednesday’s game is a perfect opportunity to bounce back.”

Wednesday night’s game is being sponsored by Blue Water Mortgage. They will have a special raffle taking place that night for everyone in attendance to win some exciting prizes. Remember admission for all Seacoast United Phantoms home games is just $5 for adults and free for children under 18.  The remaining 2015 season schedule and all team/player news can be found online at
