JUNIOR ACADEMY CURRICULUM

The Seacoast United Soccer Club, Junior Academy Program (16 weeks) that will follow a curriculum that has been specifically created to encompass many of the technical and tactical aspects of the game of soccer.  Please see the topics that will be covered throughout the 16 week program below:

BALL MASTERY/DRIBBLING - FEINT MOVES, SHIELDING & TURNS
Your child will be taught how to manipulate the ball with different surfaces of their feet to get past opponents, in addition to being shown how to protect the ball using their body.

PASSING & RECEIVING
Different techniques will be demonstrated of how to pass a soccer ball as well as the appropriate pace/weight to put on a pass depending on where they would like the ball to go.  Players will learn how to receive a ball when it is played to them, giving them the best chance of success once the ball is in their possession.

FINISHING
The art of putting the ball in the goal will be worked on;  whether one is facing the goal, or have their back to it.  Knowing whether you need to use power over placement when trying to score goals is very important!

GAME RELATED
There are many different aspects of playing in a soccer game.  During this program, your child will learn about spacing as a team/individual with and without possession of the ball.  They will also be taught about movement to create space for themselves when their team is in possession.
