NPL's New England Premier League Welcomes Girls' Division

May 2014

The New England Premier League, part of US Club Soccer's National Premier Leagues (NPL) platform, has announced the addition of a girls' division into its competitive landscape beginning Fall 2014.

The girls' division will consist of seven clubs representing four New England states:

  • Aztec Soccer (MA)
  • Bayside FC Bolts (RI)
  • Global Premier Soccer (MA)
  • New England Futbol Club (MA)
  • Oakwood SC (CT)
  • Seacoast United (NH)
  • Yankee United (CT)

The additions provide geographically friendly schedules for the U13 through U18 age groups with teams playing each other both home and away.  At the conclusion of the inaugural 2014/15 season, the team with the best record in each age group advances to the 2015 NPL Finals.

Iain Scott, Seacoast United's Director of Coaching, embraces the changes to the league format.  "Seacoast United continues to provide the highest opportunities available to players in New England, guaranteed competitive matches and reduced travel time, placing our players in the best possible position to develop," he commented.  "We are delighted to be working with like-minded clubs who place development as their top priority."

"We are excited about the opportunity to participate in the girls' division in the New England Premier League," commented Chris Scott, Seacoast United's Girls Director of Coaching.  "The creation of this National Premier League provides a competitive and localized schedule for our teams, while allowing the New England clubs the opportunity to play against neighboring NPL clubs in New York in a crossover cup competition to create a variety of opposition outside the regular league play."
