Temperatures in the high 70’s, sunshine, and highly competitive soccer await the Seacoast United Girls Academy as they make the trip down south for the Girls Academy Spring Showcase in Bradenton, Florida.
“We’re going down with our 2006, 2005, and a mixture of our 2004 and 03 girls.” said Director of Soccer, Iain Scott. “This is a great chance for the girls to go up against top competition from around the country, and be seen by national team scouts as well.”
This is the first showcase that the Girls Academy league has been able to host due to the pandemic, and our teams are itching to get started.
“This is the first time in over a year that we’ve been able to travel outside New England, and going up against places with better weather year-round is always a challenge,” said Scott. “That being said, historically, we have always competed well in these types of events and that is certainly a testament to the work our players and coaches put in.”
The showcase will take place Friday, April 16th and continue through Tuesday April 20th. The 2005 girls will get things underway when they face off against San Antonio City SC from Texas, on Friday.
“A number of our players have already committed to colleges, but this is still an amazing opportunity to showcase their talents and be seen on a national stage,” said Scott.
