U16s, U15s Advance to Super Y Finals

TAMPA, FL - Seacoast United’s U15 and U16 girls both advance to their respective Finals after battling for 2-1 wins in their semifinal matches this afternoon.  The 16’s came from behind for a victory over MPS Renegades while the U15’s topped Rage SC. 

In tomorrow’s Final matches, the 16s play the Long Island Rough Riders (NY) at 11am and the 15’s play TSF Academy (NJ) at 11:30am.

Seacoast United’s U16 Girls secured a spot in the Super Y Finals on Monday by defeating MPS Renegades 2-1.  MPS scored first, but Seacoast settled down and took control of the game on two goals by Lydia Simmons.  The girls will now face the Long Island Rough Riders at 11am on Tuesday, December 6th. 

The U15 Girls also advance to the Finals Tuesday after defeating Rage SC by a score of 2-1.  Goals were scored by Katy-Ann Grochmal and Kara Martin (PK).  They now face TSF Academy (NJ) in the final match Tuesday at 11:30am.

Seacoast United’s U16 Girls continued their winning ways with a 4-0 victory over TNT Dynamite Soccer Club (Michigan) this afternoon.  Goals were scored by Rachel Hill, Allie Day, and Lydia Simmons (2).  SUSC wins their bracket and advances to tomorrow’s semi-final vs. MPS Renegades (Massachusetts) at 1pm.

The U14 Girls tied Kalamazoo Kingdom this morning and are awaiting results from other games within their division to see if they advance to the semi-finals tomorrow as a wild card. 

The U15 Girls faced Quickstrike FC at 3pm today and finished with a 4-1 victory.  The win advances the girls to the semi-finals tomorrow after finishing first in their bracket.

The U14’s won 2-1 vs. Rage SC on goals by Greta Hulleberg and Casey Estey (full match report on USL’s website here).  Their 3rd preliminary game Sunday at 9am vs. Kalamazoo Kingdom will likely determine who advances to the semi-finals.

In a 3pm kickoff today, SUSC’s U15’s tied 2-2 with Florida Soccer Alliance.  Match report coming soon.

Seacoast United’s U16’s defeated Mountain FC (Canada) by a score of 3-1 today on goals by Rachel Hill (2) and Lilly Radack.  Today’s win earns SUSC the top seed in their group with one more preliminary game tomorrow.

Match Updates:  Friday, December 2nd

Two wins and a tie on the day for the three Seacoast United teams competing at USL’s Super Y North American Finals in Tampa, Florida. 

The U14 girls started the game quite flat and were caught with an early goal against.  From that point, the girls turned it around and dominated play but could not find the winning goal, resulting in a tie with Chicago Fire Juniors-Florida 1-1.  Seacoast’s goal was scored by Alyssa Delasio

In a 3pm kickoff, the U15 girls found themselves tied with Ocean City FC at the half 1-1 (goal by Susannah Gray), then came away with a 3-2 victory on 2nd half goals by Jacqui Ham and Katy Grochmal

In the 5pm match, the U16 girls faced the #2 qualifier from the Mid-Atlantic Region, TSF Academy (NJ).  SUSC found a tough opponent but worked hard for the 2-0 win on goals by Rachel Hill and Carlin ZiaKate Mahoney and Caton Beaulieu combined for the shutout in goal.

The girls will play their 2nd of three round robin preliminary games on Saturday.
