EPPING, NH - The Seacoast United U17/18 and U15/16 academy teams hosted Montreal Impact FC teams this past weekend at Seacoast United’s outdoor complex in Epping, NH. The U17/18 team kicked off at 11am, fighting for possession the entire game. Both teams played a competitive and physical match, resulting in a 2-0 loss for Seacoast United.
The U15/16’s took the field at 1:30pm in Epping. Similar to the earlier match, there was a constant battle for possession with multiple opportunities on goal for both teams. Seacoast United goalkeeper Georges Elkhoury made crucial saves throughout the game, keeping the score 0-0. Highlight of the first half was a header from captain Garrett Lillie whose effort was cleared of the goal line following a corner from Sebastian Lindner-Liaw.
Ending the second half, Seacoast United held the ball in Montreal Impact’s defensive half and came close to scoring on four different occasions, hitting the post three times and having a close range effort from Ethan Skinner cleared of the goal line once again. But after two hard fought halves, the match ended in a 0-0 tie.
Both Seacoast United coaches Corlton Simmond and Iain Scott noticed areas of improvement for their respective squads. The teams will use this bye week preparing to host the New York Red Bull academy teams on Saturday, May 14th. Games start at 11am at Seacoast United’s outdoor complex in Epping, NH.
