Seacoast United’s 2004 & 2005 US Soccer Development Academy teams depart tonight for England on a trip they will never forget. As part of Seacoast United’s ongoing partnership with both Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club and Nike, the teams have been invited over on a pre-season tour where they will compete against Brighton's and Crystal Palace’s academies.
“This is a fantastic opportunity not only for our kids to showcase their talent, but also continue our preparation for the spring season," said Peter Decker, Boys Director of Coaching and also Head Coach for both teams. "We are going over to represent both the Club and US Soccer as best we can, and test ourselves against the some of the best youth players in England. We are thrilled that we have been given this opportunity by our UK partners."
Not only will Seacoast players and staff be taking in London’s historical landmarks, but they will also be attending two professional matches. They will see the English Premier League's Swansea at Brighton, as well as the League Cup Final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, February 25th between Arsenal against Manchester City with silverware on the line, and in front of 90,000 passionate fans… what a spectacle!
Seacoast United will train at Brighton & Hove Albion’s training ground, the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre, with the opportunity to meet Brighton’s first team and watch one of their sessions.
