Community & Middle School Camps
Seacoast United's Community and Middle School field hockey camps are designed to help beginner and emerging players develop individual and team skills, while improving their technique and understanding of the game. The emphasis will be to build a solid foundation, through small group and individual instruction. The camps will also allow players to have fun, while increasing self confidence and making new friends. Through a variety of field hockey drills, games, and development stations, you'll be able to practice all of the techniques used in the sport, such as: dribbling, passing and receiving, ball control, shooting, defensive tackling, positioning, etc. This program is open to all skill levels and players are grouped based on previous experience on the first day, to ensure that everyone receives the appropriate instruction.
Seacoast United Field Hockey Specialized Camps are aimed to improve a player's technical ability in specific areas of the game. Created for 10-18 yr olds, the focus of the program is to enhance a player's confidence and capacity in certain positions. Drills, game play, and coaching points will incorporate the camp topic into all elements of the session. Games are also structured to reinforce the main topic, and to encourage players to push themselves to put forth their best effort.
Seacoast United Field Hockey Advanced Camps follow more of an extended rigorous training program, breaking down the game of field hockey to explore different aspects and elements. Daily schedules will include individual/skill based technical sessions, tactical sessions working in position groups, and game/scrimmage play. Full day campers will have a break during the day for lunch, separating the morning and afternoon sessions. Players can participate as an individual, or as part of a team for each camp. Each player will be motiviated and driven to work hard with and without the ball, and given the tools to succeed in a field hockey environment.
High School Camps: The Seacoast United Field Hockey High School Camps are for incoming freshmen, JV, and Varsity players in preparation for their upcoming high school fall season. Players will be put through their paces in a number of ways, consistently working in small groups with a specific functional activity. The camp focuses on individual skills in defending, attacking, finishing, and transition play. Regardless of position, players will be exposed to all areas of the game to help them understand the different functions of the team.
Berwick Academy Elite Camp: This camp is geared toward intermediate and advanced level players who are looking to improve their basic fundamental skills and learn new advanced skills. The goal of the camp is to provide an opportunity to teach field hockey in a fun, supportive and competitive environment, as well as an emphasis on developing leadership skills. In addition, there will be a strength & conditioning session built into each day. Players will be grouped based on age, previous experience and skill level, to ensure that everyone is challenge and receives the appropriate instruction. Our goal for this higher level camp is to offer the most competitive environment for all players.
